Detectors for Electron Microscopy
Crytur Ltd. produce their own unique scintillation materials: YAG:Ce, YAP:Ce, CRY18, that are highly suitable for electron detection and imaging.
Crytur Ltd. develops and produces many types of detectors used in electron microscopy and can optimize detection unit design with the use of various light guide shapes and scintillator types. Crytur Ltd. also designs complete units including the associated electronics and mechanical parts. All products pass strict quality testing.
Scintillation Detectors
Crytur Ltd. produces many types of detectors for use in electron microscopy. These detectors exhibit long operating lives and very good luminescence efficiency.
Our product line includes:
- Standard detectors: SE, BSE, TEM, Dark Field (ADF)
- Special detectors: In Lens, Segmented, Detection Array, Cathodoluminescent (CL)
- Custom designed detectors: other special detectors can be developed in cooperation with the customer

Detector/Light Guide Assemblies
The detector/light-guide assembly consists of a scintillator optically coupled to a specially designed light guide, depending on application:
- SE
- BSE
- ADF
- TEM
Special assemblies can be designed and developed on request in cooperation with the customer.
Optional Al, carbon or ITO conductive coatings, and optional reflection and AR coatings can be made on the request, also see Optional Extras.

Detection Units
Detection units consist of a scintillation detector, special light guide, mounting flange and associated electronics. Units are tested and can be mounted directly into a microscope.
Detector design can be adapted to different types of microscopes in order to meet customer’s requirements.

Associated Electronics
Associated electronics include a photomultiplier tube, preamplifier and amplifier in one module directly coupled to the detection part of the unit.
